The Center for International Disaster Information (Center) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal information you provide at the web site located at www.cidi.org (the Site). This Privacy Statement describes what information is collected and how it is used. This Privacy Statement may be changed without notice, so we encourage you to review it whenever you use the Site to make sure that you understand our current practices.
Consent to Terms
By submitting data on the Site, you agree to such data being stored on the Center’s servers, in a searchable database, for use by governmental and non-governmental agencies involved in response to natural disaster and humanitarian incidents.
Information We Collect
We collect information that you provide as well as technical data (i.e., information related to your usage of the Site, such as frequency of use or the pages visited within the Site). The Center does not employ tracking devices for marketing purposes.
Security
Your information is stored on our servers located in the United States. We treat data as an asset that must be protected and use tools (encryption, passwords, physical security, etc.) to protect your personal information against unauthorized access and disclosure. However, as you probably know, third parties may unlawfully intercept or access transmissions or private communications, and other users may abuse or misuse your personal information that they collect from the Site. Therefore, although we work very hard to protect your privacy, we do not promise nor guarantee, and you should not expect, that your personal information will always remain private.
No Marketing
We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties for their marketing purposes, nor do we send you unsolicited communications for marketing purposes.
Our Disclosure of Your Information
In addition to sharing your personal information with governmental and non-governmental agencies involved in response to natural disaster and humanitarian incidents per your consent, we may also share your personal information with:

Law enforcement or other governmental officials, in response to a verified request relating to a criminal investigation or alleged illegal activity. In such events, we will disclose information relevant to the investigation, such as name, city, state, zip code, telephone number, email address, userID history, IP address, fraud complaints, and bidding and listing history.
Other business entities, should we plan to merge with or be acquired by that business entity. (Should such a combination occur, we will require that the new combined entity follow this privacy policy with respect to your personal information. If your personal information will be used contrary to this policy, you will receive prior notice.)
Removal of Information
At any time, you may request to have reference to your offer for goods or service removed from the data set. This is possible by contacting us and demonstrating to the Center that you are the originator of the information.
