It's About Smart Compassion™
When disaster strikes overseas, the generosity of the American people can be inspiring. Individually and in communities, people are quick to organize to help those in need. But many times, good intentions do not have desired impacts.
CIDI was formed to educate Americans about the smartest and most appropriate ways to help international disaster victims. When they give responsibly, Americans provide support that is most beneficial to disaster relief and recovery efforts overseas.
Since 1988, CIDI has partnered with the US Agency for International Development's Office of Foreign Disaster Assistance (OFDA), the US Government's first responder to emergencies overseas. CIDI shares with the public tips and best practices it has learned from the experts about effective disaster response, enabling every donor to give like a pro!
CIDI's 20+ years of experience and strong ties to the international disaster response community make us uniquely positioned to educate and advocate for Smart Compassion™ and to harness, celebrate and direct the goodwill of the American people. We are excited to make American generosity a force for good.
