Do You Need an MDOT ?

MDOTs are Mobile Donations Outreach Teams. These teams are comprised of trained disaster relief professionals ready to meet with civic associations, church groups, and other entities around the United States.

If you are a community leader or member of an organization with an interest in offering disaster relief, it is important that you know how best to provide effective, useful assistance after international disasters. If this is the case, we invite you to meet with an MDOT.

MDOTs are trained to address international donations issues and the best ways to help with relief efforts. Some of the issues covered during MDOT sessions include:

- Provide information on what the USG will and will not do with regard to transporting of donated goods.
- The positive aspects of cash donations.
- The negative impact of in-kind donations and how they can actually hamper relief efforts.
- How to access donations information.
- How to find a reliable partner for your cash donations.

If you have a group of 10 or more individuals interested in meeting with an MDOT, please let us know. There is no cost to you to have an MDOT speak to your audience.

If interested, please contact us at mdot @ cidi.org.
We look forward to hearing from you.
