Emancipation Proclamation Day

September 22 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

While it was not the nationwide outlawing of slavery that would come later in the 13th Amendment, President Lincoln's 1862 Proclamation - which freed slaves in Confederate-held states - was the first policy toward that end. What policy successes in your movement can you share to give your supporters hope for lasting change? Another time to use this hook is January 1, when the Proclamation was finalized in 1863, and December 6, when the 13th Amendment was adopted in 1865.
